Liz is a mom of two girls, a wife to a Navy Veteran, and has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for over a decade in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
She believes that taking care of our own needs and practicing self care regularly not only strengthens our relationships with ourselves and helps us to stay sane, grounded, and present; but it branches out and extends to those around us as well as increases our emotional wellbeing.
She strongly believes that we ALL need to work on our mental health through check-ins and managing our emotional responses with coping strategies and daily self-care.
It all started with the strong feeling of wanting to reach more people beyond the office!
How many of us struggle with the day to day life?
Trying to search for this "balance" between being a mom, wife, employee, and all the hats that are worn in between; when the balance looks different to everyone!
It's about progress not perfection.
"A year ago self-care was not something that I prioritized, and I felt that. I was trying to be there for everyone else, but I was depleting myself; running on empty. I was trying to pour whatever drops I had left from my coffee pot to fill up other's cups. It was exhausting and not sustainable." -Liz
Self-care isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. We just need to understand what self-care actually is and what it can look like on a daily basis, how to incorporate it, and understand the impact it can also have with those around us.
It's a ripple effect.
Let's normalize daily self-care. Self-care isn't selfish, it's essential! And just like a car, our mental health needs maintenance to work properly and function at its best.
Our mission is to provide education related to mental health in an engaging and relatable way. To help increase communication skills and strengthen relationships and normalize the need for daily self care to better our overall emotional health.
